The LSM is the only sea museum of such kind in the Baltic States and is located in Kopgalis, the most northern point of the Curonian Spit. From three sides it is surrounded by water, the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. The LSM is a cultural and educational centre which endeavours to collect and preserve the marine and historical heritage. To implement the above activities the LSM will employ the scientific potential of its specialists and make sub-contracts with specialists and external experts from UKlai, the Kursiu Nerija National Park, and the MWO.
